Mama's Paint Brush

You know how a day can start out in one direction and then make a U turn and then go in another direction? That's how it was for me one day when I was doing my normal routine of getting into things - like the clothes basket - looking for treats left in pockets and paper and you know- just stuff that I like to eat. And then getting my naps in, and playing.

But lo and behold, I heard a big comotion going on and mom was calling my name. I went to see what was happening, and she had this huge red tool box out that she was setting up on the table.. She started pulling out this and that- paints and brushes and the next thing I knew, she had me stark naked and put me up on a chair and decided she was going to paint a picture of me!

You know me- I like to keep my clothes on as I am kinda shy and I get cold. But mama had a nice fire going and so she proceeded to paint my picture, as I sat there snorring, These things don't come fast ya know. I was so happy when she was done , so I could get my sweater back on and start my nap!

I guess the inspiration bug got into mama! Last week she painted a flower, and then this artsy painting. I never know what to expect. One day it's the sewing machine- and all my nice sweaters being made- and now the paint has come out.

Inspiration is a good thing- so when it comes- grab it and fly like the wind.

Nitey nite everyone.

Hi my friends!
My friend Coco Sandra y Coco sent me the wonderful, coveted
HONEST
SCRAP
AWARD
I have been enjoying the adventures Coco and the family as they are doing their vacationing, and moving to a brand new home, and not only that- they just had their 100th post. How cool is that? Can you even imagine! So congratualtions to Coco and mom and dad , and also thank you for this wonderful award.

I searched all over for the "real" little reward ' icon' but I cannot find it.! sniff, sniff.
Where in the world is it. My paste must be empty- as it will not attatch!
So I created the one above.

These are the rules of the award, so I am going to give it a try. I have never been sucessful in playing games like this- so keep you fingers crossed for me- that I do okay? Coco is one of my teachers so I am going to try to use Coco as my mentor in doing this. Everybody needs someone sometime, and I know Coco will lend me a helping paw.

When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

1. My moms adopted me when I was the size of a potatoe. They saw a flag at the end of someones driveway with a picture of a pug on it- so they pulled in- and that was when they fell in love with me. It was totally unexpected. Boy was I a happy pup.

2. My moms were taking me to the doctor all the time when I was a baby- if I breathed to fast, if I had pimples on my face, if I had a tummy ache. All the questions to the dr- why, why, why
3. I have a naked neck and arm pits - so I am like a naked chicken.
4. I am afraid of most everything- very shy, and nobody can come to this house and visit- unless I have a huge soup bone to distract me. No one can ever steal me- as I am a fraidy cat

5. I eat kleenex, and paper, and toilet tissue- napkins, light bulbs. One time I had to go to the dr because my moms found something strange in my poo poo, like a LONG worm. So off to the doctor we go- me and my poo poo. Doctor came back in and said this is what that LONG worm was- and it was a paper towel- 14 inches by 14 inches! No worms!

6. I get to sleep in the mom beds- under the blankeys. I lay on my side- just like a real person.
7. Sometimes I can sing like the Sea Gull at the ocean.
8. I love wearing clothes that mama makes for me.
9. I like to play " can't catch me". And at bed time, I play "catch me if you can!"
10. My moms worry about me - that I might be too Loud when we go stay in a hotel at the ocean.
11. I love having my picture taken! Can you tell?
12. One last thing- we tried once to see how I would adjust to having a sister. We got to take a baby home on an over nite outing to "see how it goes" and if it did not work - take the baby back. Well I was too scared and went into the corner to hide and did not want any baby looking at me or following me- and I was depressed and cried- and I felt left out and would not eat- you know the rest of the story, so the baby went back to another family that was right there to take it home, and its a very happy puppy in its home. It was nice of the people to let it spend the night. But we tried!

I will pass this award onto these new friends of mine- that I have enjoyed reading their bloggies.

Diane, Manon Doyle and Otis, Khyra, Maggie and Mitch, Sunny, Puglette, Emmitt and Melissa, Allisons pups.

So now- I will find these friend of mine and let them know.
Nity nite everyone

Rules and Regulations

This is my special area where I go when moms eat their food- and can't share with me. This was a little kids bed that mama found for sale on the side walk in the city. She sawed it down to a little over 3 feet just for me. But,,, this is not my bed- no way!

This is me with one of my hobbies.

I have had something that I have been wondering about lately- so thought I would ask you my friends.

Do you have rules and regulations? Who would ever think that dogs needed rules- of course I imagine little kids wonder the same thing- and for that matter- mommies and daddys probably wonder why they have rules too. At least I guess they do. Who set these rules anyway? Does everyone have rules?
Do you hear what I hear?

-,,,,, don't you be eating that roll of toilet tissue!,,,,,, but it's one of my favorite hobbies, to sneak upstairs when the baby gates get accidently put down- or I am racing mom up the stairs and I immediately run in and start dragging and gobbling the toilet tissue, eating as fast as I can.

Or do you ever hear " you must stay out of mommies purse",,,,,
Don't you eat that cat food (like it was poison or something").,,,,,
How about stay out of the mud-and don't be tracking that dirt into the house,,,,.
No you can't go outside without your harness and leash,,,,,,
Don't you be stealing from mommies pockets.,,,,,
No you can't have any chocolate,,,,,,,
No you can't eat that penny that dropped on the floor,,,,,,, ( I always heard we should save a penny for a rainy day).
No you can't eat that plant leaf that fell on the floor,,,,,,, (I want to know why its on the floor in the first place- tempting me!)
Have you ever been told that you need to sit still in the cart when your parents go to Home Depot - instead of jumping out and running down the aisles?
Do you ever hear "don't bark at the man at the gas station?"- who comes to the window to get mommies money- well why not, its our money?
Another rule,,,,, How about " now have some manners if we go visiting"
Or how about the one of "no barking when we are talking on the phone "
( I was trying to say hello)
Do you hear " No ,,,,,you shouldn't be drinking mama's coffee,,,,,,,(I wanted to know what all the hype is about coffee- so I thought I would check it out for myself, and why was it on my table?)

I hear this a lot " you have to go into your "special little area" , when moms eat- because they do not trust me to not grab whats on their plate and run like the dickens! (like they have reason to fear)
I guess I can be thankul that I don't hear many rules and regulations about all my toys, thank goodness. They are strung all over the place and mom's don't complain to much. I can play with any of them all day long. And I don't have any curfew laws- as I sack out real early in the evening. So that is something to be thankful for too.
So far I don't hear too much about sharring- since I am the only puggy- at least for now.
My thinking is we shouldn't have so many rules- but when I think about it- sometimes the rules have saved my life. So guess mama knows best!
Nitety nite

Brave little flowers- part 2

Hi everyone,
I never got to finish what I was trying to say about the brave little flowers. I think a big wind came and blew my bloggie away- before I was done giving my thoughts on the subject.
But here I am back again- better late than never.
I found the little white snow drops and thought how fraigle and brave they were to pop their heads out of that frozen earth! I had to be very careful not to scare them away- so I walked very carefully around them. I think I could hear them talking.
Not only did I find those little snow drops, but I also noticed the robins are back. I heard them sing.
Winter is not over, but I am feeling some spring time friskiness.
(and mama - well she had some spring fever too and was being inspired by all the artsy friends we made- so she painted the little snow drops on tissue paper- must have been that heavenly kind everyone talks about.
That's it for tonight.
Nitey nite

When good fortune happens!

Have you all heard the saying to make your own kind of music? I have discovered that I can make my own kind of party. ( especially when it comes to popcorn). I love the smell, I love the sounds of it popping. In fact just the word popcorn gets me quite excited.
This is the story of my party.
Everything seemed quite calm around the house, as mommie went into the living room to relax with her big bowl of popcorn that she had just popped with my assistance of course . Everything was calm -except for me. I was not calm, I was energized, and doing my happy pop corn dance!

Mom offered me my usual few little kernals- here and there- one at a time,, not enough,, i say!
More please!
It was then, that my plan came into action,,, Open mouth wide,,, and one,,,, two,,, three,,, take a big leap,,, pretend I am a billy goat, and jump right into the center of the bowl!
And so I did. I actually did quite well.
However as you can see I caused some sort of a little disturbance when popcorn went sailing through the air unexpectedly. Pop corn went sailing everywhere. On the couch, under the couch, on the carpet, on the other floor (which is actually what I had planned since my moms think I am on rations on how many little kernals, I get to eat. I could not believe my good fortune! Needless to say- you can imagine the scurrying around all over the carpet and floor to get the popcorn picked up before I could gobble it all down. Mommie was hurring as fast as I was! I don't understand what the big deal is here- everything was well planned out- i thought- and then that was the end of the popcorn- that was the end of the party!
One of these days, when no one is looking- I am going to get that machine down myself and make the biggest batch you can imagine! And I will have my own party! It will be more planned , and better thought out.
But the good news is, I did not end up in the dog house. Thank goodness
So onto the next adventure!

Living in the moment - part 2

Hi everyone,

Mom says I stepped on the key board and now the picture went before the words. So now, here are the words. I think the PUBLISH key is just in the wrong spot on the keyboard.
I was thinking - as it seems that, I always am-- and I was thinking about "living in the moment".

This thought first began with the Resolution log- which you see in the one picture burning in the wood stove- (that I already sent.)

This was a time my moms and I will never forget- when we were barracaded in our back room for 5 days at Christmas without water, or electricity. None- zippo. We did have the little wood stove which sure did help the situation out a little. There was no driving down the road to town to get me treats or anything! And no goin to get coffee for them. The roads were blocked by big trees and a mess of wires all over the roads. And minor detail-( 2 and a half feet of snow in some places.) There was no going over the valley and through the woods to Grandmothers house for Christmas. It was just us- and the cats. ( 4 of them.)
Anything we had to eat was in that box out there in the snow- that I was looking for something to eat- from.
So here we were- making the best of it- after all- what else could we do?

And the picture of me trying to get snacks from the box in the snow- already got sent by me.I wanted bacon!

I know, I am a silly puggy. On Christmas Day my moms put a log in the little wood stove and sat to warm their toes. As you can see one of the socks is pulled partially off- that was because I needed some entertainment of some kind- so I played tug of war. The log looked pretty - laying in there buring .That's when my moms said it looked like a Resolution Log. So that is what it became.

What kind of resolution log ? How about living in the moment? When we were experiencing all that - it was not too much fun. Can you imagine getting into an ice berg bed at nite? Especially when your used to a nice warm electric blanket? Or dragging water down from the pond to flush the moms toilet? Not fun....

Was that a live in the moment - or was that FORGET IT.
We decided we would never forget it, and it was a special time- even if it was strange.
And I did get my presents from Santa Paws. So, I was a happy pup!
There are sometimes that are not very good "live in the moment times", and they should just be forgotten- ,,,,
And sometimes to "live in the moment" is to not worry so much. Maybe that is what it is all about. Today- we have each other. And the electric blanket works!
I guess we all have to figure that part out- when we get to it.
It's kind of a big topic for a little puggy- ya know. But it was worth- bringing up.
But for now- it's the weekend- and I am going to "live in the moment"- cause I have lots of playing to do and mom's and kitties to entertain all weekend long-, bloggies to read from all my friends, food and snacks , and I love it.

See the Happy Faces!

Look at these happy little faces! They came in the mail today, and I love looking at them! Each one tells a different story. I would love to curl up and hear each one talk to me about what they are thinking. Betcha they would have a lot to say- and of course I have plenty of time to listen.

I say to them "who's the cutest" , and they all raise their hands!
My moms and I have been wanting to order these cards, we finally did, and glad we did!
We got them from Melissa and Emmitt's shopping store, and even the packaging was special- all wrapped up in a celaphane wrap.
I think we might frame everyone of them. As you can see- we could not decide which ones to order- so we picked all different faces - and we love them!
We are so glad that Melissa and Emmitt have such talent- that now their art is in our home.
Happy Days- yippee
