"I Hear Winter"

Something in this BIG world is different.
The air smells different.
The sky looks different.

Who can tell me where the Fall went?
Who can tell me where the little white SPOTS on the fawns hide?
Who can tell me why the trees are NAKED?
Who can tell me why my frog pond is FROZEN?
Who can tell me where the autumn birds are?
Who can tell me where the sun sleeps?
Who can tell me why, I wonder why?

I wonder so much,,,, about things.
But now I have more things to wonder about-
like WINTER, ,,,,,,,,
How did WINTER arrive?
Was I sleeping?
Did it TAP on my window?
Who can tell me what WINTER is?
Where does WINTER hide?
Where does winter keep the SNOWFLAKES?
Why does winter sound quiet?
Why does winter smell so clean and fluffy?

Wonder
Wonder
Wonder
That's what I do.
I am also wondering how I can get behind this BARRICADE
so I can check to see whats under the tree.
I see prezzies with my name on them.
Who can tell me why there must be a BARRICADE around the tree?
I thought the tree was mine!
Why are moms so PARANOID that I might eat a little light bulb?
Whats a Tweedles to do?

I have a BIG job doing all this wondering, wondering, wondering.
But, I decided- "What will be,- will be".
I think that I will take a nappy and dream about the reindeer,
and "you know who" , as they fly through the sky from your house to mine.

I will also DREAM about snowmen.
I wonder if I can bring one into my house?
Dream
Dream
Dream
Nitey nite my friends

Hi Tweedles! You look so pretty in your pictures. I like your pictures of the white stuff. We don't have any white stuff here, but we do have leaves. Is the white stuff as much fun as the leaves? P.S.- Santa was so nice to me, he gave me a hug and a treat! Was he nice to you?

Hi Tweedles! You must get the barricade down so that you can sit under the Christmas tree. It's magical to look up and see the lights through the branches. The presents are so pretty all wrapped up and it's fun to guess what inside of each.

I don't really like winter because the snow is cold, but it looks really pretty. All the autumn birds have flown to warmer locations where there is food for them to eat. They will feast all winter before coming back in the spring. The leaves fell off the trees so they could nurish the earth. The trees stand strong all winter against the weather, so tall and proud knowing their leaves will return when the birds return.

Tweedles, don't you hate when moms make you stay away from the tree? I have been doing naughty things around ours, so I have a barricade too!

You are so sweet Tweedles, I have no doubt that Santa is going to bring you all that your heart desires this Christmas!

Oh Tweedles....I bet you are going to be opening presents for hours on Christmas morning. A little girl as sweet as you must be getting EVERYTHING she's asked for. Just make sure you give your moms some special love on that day to thank them for being the best moms ever! Kisses & hugs, Aunt Diane

Tweedles; What this? You are barracaded away from the Christmas tree! I couldn't stand seeing a present with my name on it and not be able to get to it either. Sometimes with wondering, we just do not get the answers we hope for. Kind of nice though, things stay magical in are mind when we can't reason it.

You look just super under the Christmas tree, Tweedles. Pokey and TacoBelle wish you a Feliz Navidad. Pokey kinda likes the chilly weather, but TacoBelle never has seen it, and she doesn't like it much. They stay curled up in their little bunks in the studio...snoozing away while I'm dabbing paint. Have a joyous Christmas season, Tweedles, and give your Mums big slurpy licks.
