The flowers in my garden
have such sleepy, sleepy eyes.
Baby birds have grown feathers
and they are learning to fly,,,,
so high up in the sky.
Little fawns have lost their spots.
The spots are somewhere on the ground,,,
somewhere,,,
I don't know where.
The sky is painted
with swirls
of pink puffy clouds
and sometimes I smell rain.
Yesterday a cool breeze tickled my ears,,,
I turned and looked
but the breeze was gone.
Today I saw a golden leaf
float gently in the wind,,,
It swirled,
and swirled ,
and danced,
And then
it touched the ground.
I saw the stars
twinkle in the night sky.
I saw the man in the moon,,,,
he winked at me.
I don't know how to say goodbye.
All the flowers will hang their heads
but they will snuggle close together.
I will be right there to tuck them into the earth
with their sleepy sleepy eyes.
I will see them again next year.
and sometimes I paint words.
These little books were sent to me by Melissa and Emmitt, Life is art ... Art is Life
I plant my little seeds of thought on these pages,,,,,
I paint my dreams.
When the time is right,,,
the gentle winds will touch these pages
and these seeds that I planted, will float
across the big, big blue sky
and someday
these seeds will bloom.
Nitey nite my friends, and nitey nite my sleepy flowers.
love
tweedles

Oh dearest little Tweedles! Your words are beautiful! I bet you have some beautiful art on the pages of those great little books. You look absolutely lovely in your red harness with your yellow flowers!! xoxo Mitzu Pug and Lauren
Hi Tweedles! Your words are so beautifully woven with the changing of the seasons. You know what to say and how to say it - so magical!
My flowers also have sleepy eyes. The purple coneflowers are droopy but are offering up their seeds for the goldfinches to eat. They must eat lots of seeds so their bellies are full for the long flight south.
My sunflowers are still awake but will soon be sleepy. I too will tuck them in and say goodbye for now. I know they will be back next spring and I will welcome them back with open paws.
Stubby xoxo
Oh, Little Tweedles, your words are music to my ears. Everytime I visit you, I learn something new and I go away happy just by reading your words! Kisses!
Tweedles, you made us almost sorry to see summer come to an end - just so beautiful. It has been such a hot one here that we are looking forward to autumn, and then onward to winter and maybe lots of snow.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
I hope you put these all in a book Tweedles - I'd buy it!

You write so beautifully, Tweedles! We are so looking forward to autumn and the cooler temps but we will miss the beautiful flowers!
Love ya lots,

I don't like it when Summer ends.
It means cold West Winds and rain and WE HAVE to have a FIRE :-)
Could be worse, nothing better than sitting in my place beside the fire.
I have to shove Mew over, but it could be worse. I like fluffing up the leaves as I walk....... the leaves are falling already, Autumn has come early for us.... At least I know that with all the winds, bubbles get here faster. x x x
luv AMES
Oh Tweedles what a lovely post...

Yes the flowers will be closing their eyes soon and next year they will open theirs eyes to a fresh start. New ones, returning ones, young ones old ones. The cycle continues. I am now watching the leaves as they fall slowly to the ground in our garden. I often think of you Tweedles, keeper all things in nature. The colours are starting to change, we are now moving from green to golden oranges and browns. Winter is not far away from autumn.
Summer is coming to a close and that beautiful season of Autumn is now yours to enjoy dear Tweedles. I will look after Summer for you here in the Southern Hemisphere in the coming months and send it back to you next year!
Hey there Tweedles!
I always love your bountiful thoughts...at least they aren't affected by the seasons! Your thoughts remain "Spring" throughout the year!...how lucky you are!
The good news is that your little flowers and seeds are popping up all over on this side of the world! Thank you, Tweedles for sending them to me!
Sending lotsaluv

If I were to write a poem about the Summer slipping away it would be a sad poem indeed. Sniff, Sniff.

i cannot tell you how much we smiled to read that the fawns spots are somewhere on the ground.
so wonderful and magical.

Tweedles - as usual you have charmed us with your story. Personally I am ready for the flowers to get sleepy. It has been so so hot here. I am ready for fall. You are a cutie pie. Love those brown eyes.

Oh Tweedles, you are so adorable.
It is sad to see all of the summer flowers going away, but then at the same time, fall comes! With its beautiful leaves! All of the seasons are so beautiful in their own way. I'm glad we get to see them together, Tweedles.

Summer has scooted by, oh so quickly. Fall is in the air, at least it was the other day...now we are having heat a plenty from the 2 hurricanes intent on visiting our shores. This w/e is hunker down w/e.
Spring will be here before we know Tweedles my dear.

Our PURRecious Tweedles, we, too, see our flowers changing and making not-so-many-more blossoms each day. Momma says that fall is coming and that the trees will be all red and yellow and orange and purple. Do you think that the flowers send their babies into the leaves of the trees to make pretty colors?
Hi Tweedles!
Daisy and I love your flowers!
They are so pretty! We can't believe
summer is almost over.
Daisy and I hope you are having
great week!

Hi Tweedles thanks for stopping by my blog, I have put you to follow so will be popping in from time to time to see what you get up to.
You look so sweet in that first photo, and your words are so ture, on my morning walk just today, we noticed the leaves are starting to fall, so seening your post somes it up.
See Yea George xxx
I hate this time of year when all the pretty flowers go nite nite. As I get older, I notice I dislike it even more. Long ago, when I young, fall was my favorite time of year....that changed about 10 years ago I think.
Love your sweet poem though.
Sandy
hi tweedles! thank you for your sweet words about ollie, he is a sweetie! i am sad that the flowers are getting ready to sleep again as the summer seemed to go so fast. but they will return and we will keep them in our hearts. hugs to you and your moms.

Hi Tweedles,
Did you say art? We luv art!
We get into mommy's art projects all the time and we have been known to chew on a few of her paint brushes from time to time.
Butt, that's what she gets for letting things drop on the floor!
We luuuuv art!!!!
Luv,
Riley and Star.
Tweedles, your post made us all smile! We are a family of nature-lovers, too, and we have been watching as we see the fall coming in. We live in Massachusetts, so we like to watch the leaves change and smell baked squash and pumpkin. we are sad to see our pretty garden begin to lose its blooms one by one, but we can't wait for the pretty things that come in the fall.
We love those books that Melissa and Emmitt sent you! They are our friends, too, and we know how sweet they both are :]
Thank you for visiting our blog, too, this week! We had fun reading about your plans for the long weekend and we hope that you enjoy yourself. We would love to meet you someday and we hope that we will get our chance!
love- Jessica, JD, and Ringo
Tweedles I love your pictures and story. You are so very special and it shows in everything you do.I love my Tweedles. Mommy made a post for me today and we are working on another one!! Yahoo and yipeee. I will see you soon and until then I will dream of playing with my pal Tweedles
Love, sniffs and licks Sasha
Dear Tweedles,
I just found your blog today and I have to tell you I think you're the cutest pug I've ever seen! I am one of your newest followers and I hope when you're not busy being the keeper of the sea or writing in your blog that you could check out mine, too.
Hello again Tweedles! I saw this when it was posted and I see that my comment didn't make it...So this time I will just say that I think this is a lovely post!! With the feel of fall in the air here in Virginia too, I know that all of our flowers, the birds and all else (even our groundhog) around are getting ready to sleep--Even the frogs that visit our porch at night are going away too--But this morning I heard the owl, do you think he was telling everyone what is coming?
Your words paint the most beautiful pictures Tweedles....I can see your sleepy flowers and I can feel the summer slipping into fall....xoxoxo
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing and for your visit.
