"We Cannot Forget"

I reached out my paws into the sky as if I was reaching for a falling star.
A yearning was burning inside my heart, but it could not be quieted.
The yearning pulled at my heart strings, and I could not look away.
I could not forget. Those yearnings pulled and pulled.
My mind raced backwards to a year ago today.
I remember the day so clearly, when I stood in the sand.
My paws left tracks, that I wanted to stay forever.
Maybe if they stayed, I would always feel like I was here.
I remember the waves as they tried to catch me.
And then, I remember hearing the sea utter words that echoed across the crashing waves.
Those words that I could never forget, are now words, that will live in my heart forever.
"And who will sing to us when we are sad?" the sea asked me.
And as I walked along the shore, I whispered
"I will sing to you
I will always sing to you
forever and ever
I will always sing to you."

The yearning had become so big in my heart,
that it lured my magic bubble to come and swirl around me.
And then the bubbles lifted me up above the clouds.

Again I reached out my paws into the sky
as if I was reaching for a falling star.

A million raindrops were falling like diamonds.
They danced around my magic bubble
as it lifted me higher and higher into the sky.

All that I could see was a blurr.
All that I could hear was the pitter patter
of rain drops as they splashed and splattered on my bubble.

The sea was so quiet.
I strained my eyes as I watched the clouds dot the darkend sky.

And then splendoriously I saw the moon beams
reach down through the water to the ocean floor.

I saw the glow fish as they glowed in the waters below.
I saw Star, my beloved friend the star fish, pointing towards the direction that Mother Earth is
guiding the sea creatures to follow for safety.

It has been a year today since the black oil poisoned the oceans.
I remember all my feathered friends and sea creatures crying "help us".
Today I remember all my feathered friends in the sky and all the sea creatures who are healing.
Mother Earth is helping to heal their brokeness.

Now it is time for me to sing. I must keep my promise,,, forever and ever.
Will you sing with me?

Little Tweedles...we can never forget. Things are better here but always a lesson learned but not always followed and soon forgotten by the moneymakers. Wish we lived in a perfect world. Kisses!

I didn't forget about the oil spill - but I didn't know it was a year this day either.

We have to make a conscious effort to be more careful and that every living thing is important.

The water is alive. And it's important.

Happy Easter.

Oh Tweedles, I will always sing to the ocean. Last year was so sad at this time, and it continued and continued and continued most of the summer. After 12 long months, it is better, but not healed yet. Some of the animals affected are still being looked after by humans, not ready yet to go back to their ocean environment; there are still parts of the ocean where you can dip down your paw and bring up the black sludge that remains and is still hurting the ocean; the humans who tried to help clean the ocean, who went out in their boats and cleaned off some of the black oil are now sick. The ocean, and all the creatures of the world, need our song, need our help. And you, my friend, will be there, as will I.

Beautiful. I was just enjoying beaches you would have loved. The beaches in Aruba would give you more space to run, jump and have fun then you can imagine.

Hey there Tweedles, my sweet little Puggy-friend.
I have heard you singing constantly. I can't believe it's a whole year already.
We are busy fighting a similar fight here where they want to mine our 'Karoo' landscape - special desert area with a host of microscopic friends and sensitive biospheres.
We are trying to sing loudly this end too - to stop it, before we sing in pain.
We love you, Tweedles.

hey Tweedles,

What a very touching and moving post. I am singing right along with you, sweet friend of mine! I, too, heard the cry of the sea creatures and ocean waters as the horrid black mass took over. I and my human have not lived one day since then without offering a prayer for healing of the ocean and her children.

Tweedles, I know the sea creatures are sleeping better tonight knowing that you are helping them with all your mighty heart and your song! <3

I will sing with you, Tweedles! I love to sing and want all the ocean creatures to hear our song. I cried for them one year ago and I still pray that they all stay safe. They need our help today just like they did one year ago.

Thank you for reminding us that we are connected to the ocean. We are one big planet, this wonderful wonder world that we all share.

Oh my gosh Tweedles.

I will sing and sing and never stop until the brokeness has been fixed. Together our voices will travel the earth and others will hear it, they will join in. It will be a choir for the earth and it all starts with us. We shall help heal the wounds, we shall help make the earth happy again.
