"What Color Is Spring?

I see pink and white and yellow blossoms.
I see rocks and worms, and lizzards too.
My ears are listening, for signs of spring.
I hear green frogs croaking.
Can you hear them croak?
What color is spring?

Sometimes I hop onto logs and sit.
Sometimes I see the many colors in the rainbows.
Today, I feel the golden sun rays shine down on me.
The color is warm, the color is yellow.
Sometimes I close my eyes, and I listen.
I can hear the wind as she whistles through the trees.
The color of the wind is periwinkle !
I hear happy birdies chirping.
The color is red like my heart.
I smell the sweetness of spring .
I hear the trickling stream.
The streams color is silver and aqua.
I wonder where spring sleeps.
I wonder, wonder, wonder.

I see a butterfly sitting in the sun.
I must be so quiet.
Her wings are pink and blue.
I watch her stretch , and then I watch her fly.

I will follow the butterfly,, and find out where she goes.
My journey will show me the many colors of spring.
What color do you think spring is?
Nitey nite

Oh Tweedles, do let me know where the butterflies fly to ... I think spring is the color of tulips. We have some lovely purple tulips in our kitchen right now.

I thank you so much for your well wishes. I have recovered from my dental procedure and am back to my old self again.

Your pal, Pip

Tweedles, you captured the magic of spring! There are so many colors of spring, and they are all around us, reminding us that the grey days of winter are now behind us. You are so cute in your little pink coat, welcoming spring!

What a beautiful poem, Tweedles. I think of spring as green and purple. Green for the grass and tender leaves. Purple for the pasqueflowers who courageously bloom first here.

I also think of spring as smelling like the sweet scent of wet pine needles.

I think of spring as the sound of croaking frogs - but that hasn't happened here yet.

I also think of spring as butterflies fluttering around. All of my chocolate labs have tried to sniff butterflies as puppies. I have visions of all of them with butterflies on the tips of their noses.

That's how I think of spring.

Thank you Tweedles, for making me see, hear, and even smell spring.

Good morning, Tweedles!

Spring is a myriad of colors, but I always associate the season with pink and white.....the colors of Magnolia and Dogwood Trees.

And they are in FULL bloom in Indianapolis now!

Happy Spring!

Love -

Sarah

Hi Tweedles!

I think spring is green because everything is new again. The rebirth of Mother Earth from her winter slumber turns everything green and this makes the birdies sing.

I love spring and I would love to take a walk in your forest. Momma told me what a magical place it is so I will dream about being there with you tonight.

Hi Tweedles and Moms! Looking forward to showing you our beautiful Tulips, and want to let you know to bring your rubber booties, it's been wet up here. I did find a few places that have rides through the fields so that will be fun!
See you soon!

harrooo Tweedles! What a fabulous post & thank you so much for the kind message:) here in wyoming spring is all shades of green that return to a barren landscape. It's the pale purple of my lilacs & the bright red tomatoes #1 grows (don't taste too good). It's blue skies & blue mountains. Sometimes its brown when our roads turn to mud after the rain...have a good evening Tweedles!

Dear Tweedley, this is AnnieBee, and I have been thinking all morning about what color is spring. I sat in mama's lap and thought so hard my eyes got sleepy and my wrinkles got smooth. And when I woke up, I had the answer! Spring is the color of love.

My colour of spring, in my case, has blond tips all over it...a bit of humour is always colourful...I love all the shades of green in the forest and along the sand dunes near the ocean...the colours vary all the time because of the light shining from the sun!
