"For Ever Thankful"

Today my heart is ever thankful.
Memories and moments that are as many
as the million raindrops
that have fallen from the sky
now live in my heart.

I am thankful for the gifts Mother Earth
has bestowed upon my forest.
For every living heart beat of plant or animal
I am thankful.
I am thankful for the journeys that my paws
have traveled.
Each path has lead me in a new direction.
Sometimes I have stumbled and fallen.
Mother Earth always reaches out her arms
to me and lifts me higher than before.

I am thankful for the paws and hands
that reach out and join together
in circles of love in blog sphere.
I am thankful for all of you.

I am thankful for my home
and for the love I feel everyday.
I am thankful for my moms who love me.

Last year my dearest friend Angel Stubby
sent me a poster poem on thankfulness.
The words became a part my heart then,
and will be forever and ever.
My lips could never eloquently speak
as the writers of this poem have done.
I shared it with you last year.
Because it is important to me
I share these words again
with you and our land.
Forever grateful, I am that Stubby shared this with me.

"GREETINGS AND THANKS, "
"A daily Thanksgiving inspired by the Onondaga Nation, Haudenosaunee"

Greetings
and Thanks
to each other
as people

To The Earth
mother of all
greetings & thanks

To all the waters
waterfalls & rain
RIVERS & OCEANS
greeting & thanks

To all the FISH LIFE
GREETINGS & THANKS

the grains and greens
BEANS & BERRIES
as one we send thanks
to FOOD PLANTS

MEDICINE HERBS
of the world
and their keepers
GREETINGS & THANKS

TO ALL ANIMALS
& their teachings
greetings & thanks

THE TREES
for shelter & shade
fruit & beauty
greetings & thanks

TO ALL BIRDS
large and small
joyful greetings & thanks

And from the four directions
THE FOUR WINDS
thank you for purifying the air
we breathe and giving us strength
GREETINGS

THE THUNDERERS
our grandfathers in the sky
We hear your voices
GREETINGS & THANKS

and now THE SUN
for the light of a new day
and all the fires of life
GREETINGS & THANKS

to our oldest grandmother
THE MOON
leader of women
all over the world
AND THE STARS
for their mystery
beauty and guidance
GREETINGS & THANKS

TO OUR TEACHERS
from all times
reminding us of how
to live in harmony
GREETINGS AND THANKS

AND FOR ALL the gifts of creation
for all the love around us
GREETINGS AND THANKS

And for that which is forgotten
WE REMEMBER

WE END OUR WORDS
NOW OUR MINDS ARE ONE

A daily Thanksgiving inspired bythe Onondaga Nation, Haudenosaunee

Oh, Tweedles! What a wonderful way to give thanks, today and every day. You are the most grateful pug I know and I wish you the bestest of best Thanksgivings. I just know you will get a little turkey today.

I read that poem all the time and it reminds me that there is something bigger than all of us that keeps everything together. Angel Stubby knew it and now so do I.

Happy belated Thanksgivings Tweedles. That is a lovely poem. Thamks so much for sharing it.

Have you read what Nola the Dachshund wrote on her blog about being doggies being thankful. It made Mommy cry and she grabbed Weenie up and smothered him in kisses cause he was one of those doggies before he came tolive with us. I was too but only for a short time not 9 years like Weenie was.
