"The River's Song"

Today, I listened

to the river.

She sang so merrily.

She sang a song of tranquility,

on her journeys out to sea.

I watched her bend

through crooked turns,

and splash

on jagged rocks.

I watched her frolic,

Ohh,,,, so very free.

And then I saw a tiny golden leaf,

as she spiraled,,,, gently from the sky.

It fluttered gently like butterfly wings.

I watched her touch the burbling ripples,

and then she slowly landed on the water.

I watched the little golden leaf.

I watched her swirl in circles.

I saw her float so slowly,

to her journeys far away.

Yes, far away she will travel- far out into the sea.

Today, I listened to the rivers song,

a song of harmony.

If I were that little leaf

I wonder

where my journey would lead me?

Nitey nite

love

Good evening, Tweedles. Oh how I wish I could have been by the river with you to hear her sweet song and enjoy nature's beauty. Like the beautiful puggy in the pictures. You are especially cute in them! Sweet dreams.

I like your River Song and I like the fact how you are always thinking.

The pretty pictures too.

I think the river might take you to a place you wouldn't want to go!

I think that I am just like that little leaf, wondering where this journey will lead me.

A beautiful poem that sang to our hearts, sweet Tweedles. I can feel what you're talking about deep in my heart. I wonder so many of the same things.

Tweedles, that river would carry you right home to your Mommas' hearts. You'll be there forever surrounded by love. But the journey would be thrilling!

Tweedles, it has been brought to my attention that you have no Gampy or Gammy who you can vent to when your pugrents fail to understand your point of view. That is unacceptable. I have had a long discussion with Payton and she is willing to share me (actually she said it would come out of my sleep allowance!) if you would like me to be a Gampy stand-in. I would be honored if you said yes.

Hi Twee! I love your river song, it sang its way in to my floppy ears and twisted itself around my heart, I love that you love all that nature gives to you, mother earth is so wonderful she surrounds us with her infinite beauty and wisdom, we are both so alike! I too love to listen to the songs of this amazing planet, the song of the river, the birds in the trees, the melody of the wind with the tune of the trees! I think of you with every little step of my Puggy paws as I wonder through my woodland walks and wish that you were with me to enjoy it all! I hope your golden leaf reaches your ocean and crosses the seas to where I live and then in my tranquil lake I shall see that little leaf and it will glow bright gold and my heart will fill with love! Tweedles, that is so beautifully simplistic.

Hank and I both enjoy this very type of thing.....sitting by the water and giving our souls a rest.

So nice, Tweedles! I think the flow of the river is like life...sometimes there are rocks, sometimes there are curves, but all is well if it keeps moving forward. And the little leaf will travel in that flow and experience so very much!

The yellow/golden/ochre leaves of our beech tree are floating down this morning as I sit waiting patiently looking out the window for one of my Daddy's to come home after spending a night with his Daddy...Life throws us curves and holding on and balancing is what gets us through. The sweet harmony you feel with your world permeates beyond its borders. We feel the love and continue with your quest!

Hi Tweedles, What a beautiful meditation. If you were that leaf I bet you would float on down the river and come to a water fall but right before you fall a cloud comes and takes you to a beautiful place in the sky where you can jump from star to star. Then maybe a shooting star would take you to the moon and you can have a wonderful adventure there too!

Who knew I was a creative writer?! Bol!

I think your beautiful poem about the river and traveling on it spoke to our hearts in a metaphor for each of us gently floating on the river of life. Thank you for capturing the feeling and wonder so well. Sweetest of dreams, dear friend.

You are a star Tweedles. Your words about the river make me think about the sun, moon, and stars. If you were a leaf on the river would you float towards us? We could watch the same sun, moon, and stars together!
