"The Whales Song"

The sun warmed my shoulders, as I peered across the sea.
From far away, I heard sounds that I had never heard before.
These sounds were gentle to my ears. The sound was coming closer and closer.

I climbed to the highest cliff, that I could find. I listened, and then I searched.
My eyes scanned the horizon. I looked to your side of the world, far, far away.
I looked as far, as I could see. I looked to the North, the South, the East and the West.
The mysterious sound, was coming closer and closer.

And then without warning, the sound was right in front of me.
Suddenly and magestically, a sea creature leaped out of the ocean.
It splashed,,,,, and then,,,, I was all wet!
I shivered, and shook my head. I rubbed the droplets from my eyes.
This beautiful, mysterious, creature that I had never seen before, was right before my eyes.
It swam in circles, and then would plunge down, down , down, into the dark sea.
I did not understand what this sea creature could be.
From deep in the sea, I could hear the sounds.
The sounds,,,, were like a lyllabye.

The sun was getting sleepy, and was closing its eyes, until morning.
The ocean waves snuggled like a fluffy blanket, and then the sun disappeared.
I sat and watched the sun sink into the sea. I listened to the ocean roar.
And then it was at that moment,,, when I noticed a giant bubble drifting towards me.
Like magic in a fairy tale, I heard the words..... "Close your eyes and count to 3 Tweedles, count to 3".
I closed my eyes and counted to 3.
Then, like a dream come true, I was inside the giant bubble with Puff, my sea horse friend.
Puff told me about how he and Star, had been helping lead all the sea creatures to clean water and safety. "The ocean is healing itself," Puff said. "Your friends have helped the oceans so much."
"But now I must ask for more help, Tweedles."
This creature that you saw today, is my friend,, she is a whale.
She has a family called a pod.
This is a mama whale, and she has a baby in her tummy.
I will lead them to safety in the mighty oceans. The baby whale will be born soon.
But, I need you -to tell all your friends, to help me.
Please help me to find a safe place for this family of whales to live, and for all the other whales in the oceans. We must keep them safe from the dangers in the world.
The sounds that you heard today, were the songs of the whales.
The whales sing songs, just like you and me. This is their planet too,,,, please help.
Nitey nite my friends,
love
Tweedles

Hello Tweedles and Tweedles Mom! I'm just waking up this morning and yours is the first post I've read; what a wonderful way to start my day thinking of you and your Moms listening and hearing the ocean and seeing the whales! I love them too and wish I could understand their songs of ancient times and their adventures. I so hope they continue to have a safe, clean place to live for many many more years to come!!

Oh Tweedles, this is beautiful! Our family LOVES whales and works hard to protect them. We have actually never seen one in person (we live the midwest), but mama's dream is to some day see one in the ocean.

Thanks so much for posting this. We all must work together to save these beautiful sea creatures!

Your pal, Pip

Tweedles, there is nothing quite as calming and peaceful as visiting your blog. I will do all I can for the animals, Mommy is aware and does what she can also all the time. The magic bubble is good for so many things and I love how you are always finding ways to use it to help our fellow animal friends. Have a peaceful day, my pal and your Mommies. You all deserve it.

love , licks and sniffs, Sasha

Tweedles, you are so lucky to live near the ocean and be able to help all the sea creatures. I saw whales out in the open waters once, swimming free and singing. They were humpback whales and there was a mama and calf, too! I know your whale and her baby will swim and sing and live a happy life in the waters with your help!

Another beautiful story! I love the whales, too. My wish is for all the creatures in the ocean to be safe. I used to have a CD with whales singing on it. Lost it somewhere along the way. I loved to hear them, so peaceful but eerie at the same time. Have a great weekend. The photos are gorgeous!

Ah Tweedles, what a beautiful experience. Every Winter (which is sort of now) we have the whales come into the bays from Cape Town to a place called Hermanus where they have their calves! A wonderful sight and every year there are more and more. So maybe Puff is right and the oceans are healing themselves. PS the whales here are called Southern Right Whales.

My precious Tweedles, our momma is so furry worrieds about the beautiful whales, too. She says that mean people sometimes do harm to them and that if she could...well, Tweedles, you don't want to know what our momma would do because you are a sweet, young girl and you don't need to have bad words to read on your bloggy.

Tweedles, that is simply beautiful!! Momma took us a few times to see the elephant seals, but those noises they made sacred me so bad I put my tail way way between my legs the entire time. She promised to never take me again.

We're so glad you got to visit the with whales and we're so happy you shared it with us.

Oh Tweedles...

I love your stories!
Maxmom has been telling me all about you and how I must be like you...compassionate and caring!
We have beautiful whales here too -Southern Right Back Whales that come to our coastline to mate every year. In one of our coastal towns, there is a bell which is rung when these beautiful creatures are spotted. Many people travel miles to go and see them....they love our seas here.

I too hope that our seas will heal all over.
