"Let's Help Methuselah"

The forest seemed unusually quiet tonight.

The stars twinkled in the sky
like they always do,
and moon rose over the tallest of the trees,
just like always.

But the hush was a sound that I had never heard before.
And the trees were not singing.
Frogs were not croaking.
Owls were not hooting.
It was so quiet.

I cupped my paws to my ears so I could listen to the silence.
The silence was luring me to Methuselah, the oldest tree in the forest.

As I came into a clearing.

I saw the moon beams

shine down on Methuselah's face

and then I saw the tears

trickle down his branches

and fall to the ground below

like diamonds.

"Why is there sadness in my forest?" I wondered.

"Come closer", Methuselah whispered.

Carefully, I stood on my tip toes,

and then I reached my arms up as high as I could reach.

Softly,

I placed my paws on his heart.

I felt his heart,,,

beat

beat

beat,,, just like mine.

One of Methuselah's branches reached down and patted my head.

and then, Methuselah began to whisper,

"Our time has come."

"It is time for us to fall"

"The forest will be gone."

"The chainsaws are coming."

"We cannot run"

"We cannot hide"

As I looked around me, I noticed that the other trees cried too..

"I cannot let this happen to my forest!"

"It is not time for them to fall!

"They will not fall! "

The forest and all its creatures must be saved.

I must find a way to help Methuselah and the other trees.

We can find a way to help the forest and the trees.

I just know we can!

You and me together....

Lets help the forest.

Nitey nite

love

Tweedles,
I just had Mom send you today's daily om. I think it's a sign that we will find a way to save Methuselah. Maybe you should have him lift you into his branches to find the answers.

Tiffy said...

Oh Tweedles! We must save the forest! I like Wilma's idea about finding the answers in the branches. Methuselah has the answers but he is powerless to save himself and his friends. We must all come together to save them before the chain saws get there. Please send your magic bubbles out into the world to pick all of us up so we can help.

Are they coming to your area and taking those gorgeous tress down. Don't tell me yes. That makes me so sad. All I can think of now is prayer. sandie

Oh Tweedles. Are they really thinking of cutting down your mighty trees? Or, are you speaking of forests in general? I hope that Methuselah is not in danger. But, I also wish that we could protect all of our trees, for they make our Earth a healthier place.

Thank you Tweedles, for your sweet words about my friend J. I miss him so much but your words made a difference.

hey Tweedles,

Grrrr...that makes me so mad! I don't want Methuselah, or his wonderful forest, chopped down! With the Power of the Paws I am sure we can save it! Tweedles, Methuselah has such a great friend in you! By getting the woof out, you are helping to bring positive thoughts to surround the majestic forest and save it. I just know we can save Methuselah and his forest. I don't want the trees to cry, it makes me too sad.

Tweedles, I am so sad about this. At first, I thought that maybe some of the trees were going to loose their leaves as we get closer to fall, but chain saws?!? How horrible! Wilma and Tiffy have some great ideas. Please let me know what I can do to help save your forest.
Love,
Payton

We must never give up the fight to keep our forests and oceans and skies safe for one and for all. This planet is not ours - it belongs to the ages and to our children and to their children. We are but temporary tenants of this planet.

I always get so agitated when I hear anything to do with the destruction of trees. I purposefully planted many trees on my property because of what they do for us. To hear of possible decimation of trees and woods is so heart breaking. Do what you can do Tweedles my Lovely and we'll help too!

Oh, Tweedles, your post made Mommy cry. It is so sad that progress has to destroy such beautiful tress. The fires in Texas have destroyed so many of them thast it just hurts to see.

Your foest is fantastic and I hope it stays around.

By the way...did I mention that your words are beyond beautiful and they make me think about how we as humans make a mess of God's beautiful earth?

dearest twee!
we will hold hands and form a ring around the trees, just like the rings in their trunks.

it is their secret message to us.

it is the key to saving them!

can you feel our paws holding yours?

we will save them twee, we all will together with a ring of love.

The White Dog Army stands at your side ready to help defend and protect the beloved trees. The world needs our giant wise green ones, they make our air healthy and our souls sing...and they provide homes for so many. We send our strongest positive energy and reach out our paws to join with others in The Circle of Paws to prevent Methuselah's passing.

Oh Tweedles! We hope that your forest is spared from the mean chainsaws!

Do you think maybe your moms could use their thumbs and send messages to important people asking them to stop? Sometimes that works!

Good luck! We hope you have good news to share with us soon!

Say it isn't true! Not your forest! That's what is wrong with our air today. The trees filter our air and they're cutting down all the trees! What is wrong with these people with chainsaws?

Joan Princing Art said...

Oh Tweedles, this can not be. We need trees, we need forests. This makes us very, very sad. Those chainsaws make loud noises, but I bet ya we can growl even louder at them!! GRRRRRR....go away.
Sending you tons of grrrrr's.
